I'm Sam, or my handle is Flapjackal.
I love the creativity, imagination, and escapism of games. Some years ago I finally committed to giving TTRPGs a try, believing Dungeons and Dragons was my only option. I was very wrong.
Myself or those I ended up playing with weren't interested in learning a whole dense ruleset before any of us played for the very first time, so I decided to investigate putting together something simple to playtest narrative and some easy-to-follow rules. I've been writing novels since I was thirteen. Now I wanted to tell one of these stories with my friends. Years of one-shots and campaigns have led to me to finally have a glimpse into what it means to build a TTRPG from the table up.
My TTRPGs focus on narrative storytelling with agnostic settings which can be applied to a variety of stories you want to tell. I want the games to be easy to grasp for new players, but have enough nuance for GMs to have fun designing new challenges for their parties. I love a unique mechanic that sheds new light on old gameplay tropes. Most importantly, if it isn't fun for the players or the GM it goes in the bin. That's why playtesting matters - no use coming up with complex mechanics that WORK if they are a misery to play out.
I hope you enjoy what I have to offer.
